Christmas Light Installation Cost in Atlanta: What Goes Into Your Quote
A clear look at what Icy Lights measures, designs, installs, maintains, takes down, and stores when we build a Christmas light quote for your home.

If you've searched for Christmas light installation cost in Atlanta, you've probably noticed most local installers don't post a price list. We don't either. That isn't us being cagey. A display for a single-story ranch in Tyrone and one for a two-story house with three peaks in Peachtree City are different jobs, and one price can't cover both.
What we can do is show you exactly what goes into an Icy Lights quote. Once you know what we measure and what's included, the number makes sense, and you'll know what to ask any other installer too.
Quick answer: every Icy Lights quote is built around your roofline, home height, trees and bushes, custom design, lighting materials, and the maintenance and take-down service that keeps your display looking its best all season.
What your Christmas light installation quote is based on
Every quote starts from your address and what you want lit. From there, six things move the price.
1. How much roofline you want lit
Roofline is measured in linear feet, and it's the backbone of most displays. Lighting the front roofline only is one size of job. Wrapping every peak, gable, and gutter line around the house is another. We use commercial-grade C9 LEDs, custom-cut to your roofline on white wire that matches the trim, so the length we measure is the length we build.
This is why “cost per foot” only tells part of the story. A foot of gutter on a single-story house and a foot of peak on a second story aren't the same amount of work.
2. How many stories, and how steep the roof is
Height changes everything about an install. A single-story roofline is quick ladder work. A second story means longer ladders, more setup, and more care on every clip, and steep pitches slow things down again. Taller homes take more time to install and to take down, and the quote reflects that.
We use clips, never nails, so nothing goes through your shingles or gutters.

3. Trees and bushes
South Metro Atlanta yards tend to have something worth lighting: a big oak, a row of boxwoods, or a pair of crepe myrtles by the drive. Each one adds to the quote, and how much depends on what you want done with it.
- Trunk wraps light the trunk and the main limbs. Clean and bright, and quicker to do.
- Full canopy wraps run mini lights out along the branches. More lights, more time, and a much bigger effect.
- Bushes and shrubs are wrapped or netted, and priced by how many you want lit and how big they are.
Tree height matters the same way house height does. A 15-foot dogwood and a 40-foot pine aren't the same job.
4. Custom design and extras
Beyond the roofline and the yard, the extras are where a display becomes yours. Wreaths, garland around the front door, icicle lights, pathway or stake lights along the walk, and animated lighting for larger homes all add to the quote. Every install includes a timer, so the lights come on and go off on their own.
If you want something specific, tell us on the quote form. A photo of a house you liked helps.

5. Leased lights or lights you own
This one surprises people. With Icy Lights, the lights are part of the service: we supply commercial-grade LEDs cut to fit your house, and we store them after the season. You don't buy strands, you don't replace dead ones, and you don't keep boxes in the garage. That's built into the quote.
Already own lights? We can take down and store lights that you or another company installed. Only need lights for a party or a shorter stretch? Our Christmas light rental service covers weekend and short-season displays.
6. Maintenance and take-down
A quote from us covers the whole season, not just install day. If a bulb or strand goes out, call or text and we come fix it. Repairs are free all season.
In January we take everything down, including every clip, and your decorations go into climate-controlled storage until next year. When you compare quotes, check whether the other installer includes take-down and storage, or prices them separately. See how Christmas light take-down and storage works.
How the quote process works
- Tell us about your house. Fill in the free quote form with your address and roughly how big your home is, then tick what you want lit: roofline, trees, bushes, pathway, garland, or wreaths. Add a line or two about the look you're after. You can also call 404-500-9627 or email quotes@icylights.com.
- We look at the house. We review the property, roofline, and landscaping so the design reflects the work your home actually needs.
- You get your design and quote. It lists what we'll light and how, with the price and payment details. No pressure to sign.
- Approve it and pick your date. Most installs happen in November. You don't need to be home on install day.
How long it takes to get a quote
The quote itself is free and no-pressure. If you want to change the design, say so and we'll adjust it.

Packages give you a starting point
Not sure where to start? Our Christmas light packages show what a typical display looks like at each size of home:
- Classic Display, usually for single-story homes: front roofline in C9 LEDs, white wire, timer, season-long maintenance, January take-down, and storage.
- Premium Showcase, usually for two-story homes: the full roofline, up to three trees, shrubs, a wreath or garland, and priority maintenance.
- Custom Design, for larger homes and estates: a full design consultation, architectural and landscape lighting, animated options, and a dedicated project manager.
Your quote can start from a package or go fully custom. Either way, it's priced to your house.
When to book
November is our install month, and the calendar fills fast. Book before Thanksgiving, November 26, to guarantee your install date. Earlier is better: an October quote gives you the most choice of dates.
